Since Jordyn has taken such an interest in our aquarium fish, I've decided to put some more time and effort (and money) into bringing our 90 Gallon aquarium back to it's heyday. I'll be putting together a new section of our website detailing the adventure.
It's been a while since I've been really involved in the tank, other than the occasional water changes it's been pretty much a chore rather than a fun activity. In fact, we were pretty much just waiting until the 3 remaining fish in the tank were gone - then we were going to break down the tank.
After a recent trip to the fish store with Jordyn, that changed. She got such a kick out of all the fish. Of course she wanted to take home the real sharks they had in a display 'pond', but she settled for some smaller fish!
Over the course of the last few weeks, we've gotten the big Fluval filter fixed (needed a new impeller and shaft), put in two new heaters (one for each side of the tank), and added a number of Paradise fish (minus one that jumped out of the tank while we wern't home - through the small hole cut out for the outside power filter), some Rainbow fish and a group of Pearl Gouramis. The tank already contained a medium sized Bala Shark, a nice sized Bosemani Rainbow fish, and a lonesome Blue / Three Spot Gourami. Still to come are probably more Rainbow fish and some bottom dwellers, probably some corys or other catfish. Jordyn is really starting to enjoy just sitting and watching them during feeding time, and likes to 'help' during tank maintanence.
